Vera.ai white paper: Exploring the Intersection of Generative AI and Disinformation

In a collaborative effort, researchers from four EU-funded projects focused on artificial intelligence and disinformation —AI4Media, vera.ai, AI4Trust, and TITAN— have come together to release a white paper titled “Generative AI and Disinformation: Recent Advances, Challenges, and Opportunities,” KInIT is part of the vera.ai project, you can find more information about it here.

The white paper, co-authored by our researcher Ivan Srba, aims to deepen understanding of the disinformation-generating capabilities of state-of-the-art AI. It also explores the utilization of AI in the development of innovative technologies for detecting disinformation. Additionally, the paper delves into the ethical and legal dilemmas associated with these advancements. 

In its conclusion, the document revisits the challenges and opportunities introduced by generative AI within the realms of disinformation production, dissemination, detection, and debunking.
