Who We Are
The Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (KInIT) is an independent, non-profit research institute based in Bratislava, dedicated to advancing intelligent technology research. Job Description
The area of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI is currently one of the fastest-moving scientific fields. Whether it is through improving the foundation models themselves, developing new modes of generation, designing pipelines that utilize mechanisms such as retrieval and self-verification to reduce the LLMs’ tendency to hallucinate, or seeking efficient ways to adapt them to new tasks and languages – the landscape is constantly evolving.
We are seeking a talented and motivated researcher to join our team focused on large language models (LLMs) and generative AI. Your responsibilities will include:
- Research Projects: Engaging in both basic and applied research projects aimed at advancing the state of the art in LLMs.
- Innovative Methods: Developing and evaluating new methods and approaches, designing and conducting experiments, formulating data collection and annotation strategies, etc.
- Practical Applications: Translating cutting-edge research into real-world applications, in close collaboration with our research engineers.
- Collaborative Initiatives: Working on grant-supported and commercial initiatives with top-tier international research institutions and industry leaders.
- Scholarly Contributions: Publishing your findings in high-impact journals and presenting at prestigious international conferences.

Requirements
- A PhD. in computer science, machine learning, or a related field.
- An established track record of publishing at top conferences and in high-impact journals.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify patterns, and derive actionable research insights.
- A proactive approach to continuous learning, and staying abreast of the latest advancements in LLMs and generative AI.
