IT SPY is an elite IT competition evaluating diploma theses of university students. Dozens of ambassadors every year are looking for the best of all successfully defended diploma projects. This year, almost 1,300 diploma theses prepared at the IT faculties of Czech and Slovak universities took part in the competition. The joint decision is then under the auspices of the oldest professional IT organization ACM (Czech & Slovakia Chapter) about those who will be selected for the finals.

The main organizers of the competition in 2021 were Profinit and the Czech and Slovak sections of the professional association ACM (Association for Computer Science) – Slovakia ACM Chapter. The competition was also sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Slovak Republic and the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies.

We are proud that our researcher Patrik Goldschmidt won the 2nd place in the IT SPY competition, where in the final he presented his work on “Mitigation of DoS attacks using machine learning”, which he worked on as a master’s student at the Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology.
