Ethical challenges of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has brought many positive changes. We may not even realize how much the presence of AI systems makes our lives easier. As with other technologies that are fundamentally changing society, AI has some risks in addition to its benefits. These risks are not always technical in nature. Early identification and appropriate response are key to the impact on those affected.

The pursuit of trustworthy artificial intelligence is based on achieving a positive impact in areas such as transparency, fairness, privacy and the degree of human oversight. What happens if one of these areas is neglected? What moral dilemmas can such artificial intelligence systems cause? Will tough regulation of artificial intelligence be needed by states, or will companies deal with it themselves?
