DARIAH-SK: Digital research infrastructure for the humanities

In 2025 KInIT became part of DARIAH-SK. DARIAH-SK is a national consortium for digital research infrastructures in the humanities. We operate as a distributed network of institutions that cooperate in a coordinated manner to provide digital infrastructure services.

As of February 1, 2026, Slovakia, represented by DARIAH-SK, has become an official member of the European research infrastructure DARIAH ERIC. This multinational platform supports collaboration within the digital humanities scientific community across the EU.

The DARIAH-SK consortium is led by the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology, Slovak Academy of Sciences and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic. It is a distributed research infrastructure composed of a network of geographically dispersed and coordinated domestic institutions. These institutions offer a wide range of digital and analog services to the scientific community and the general public, especially

  • Processing and dissemination of research data
  • Development of open-source repositories for cultural and historical heritage
  • Building and analysis of language databases
  • Ethics assessment of new technologies and popularization of open science
