Senior Project Manager

We are looking for a colleague to join our team so that together we can transform Slovakia—concentrating and circulating talent, and connecting business and academia through excellent research. Excellent research is inseparably linked to projects, especially international ones.

We are looking for a skilled colleague who will manage projects, collaborate in defining, updating, and ensuring processes related to project preparation and implementation (primarily European grant schemes). You will collaborate with a team of top-notch and passionate researchers in the field of artificial intelligence, connected to other areas, including the humanities and social sciences.

A variety of topics and responsibilities, a team of colleagues who put their hearts and minds into building the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (which is reflected in the high success rate of approved projects), and numerous supporters of KInIT – this is the foundation for personal growth and development.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the execution of projects in the field of artificial intelligence research, development or knowledge transfer. You will coordinate the internal and external team members both organizationally and conceptually, prepare and update project plans according to agreed steps and methodologies, and maintain regular communication with consortium members. You will be part of the institute’s management and contribute to strategy development.

Job Description:

  • Plan and monitor project capacities
  • Engage in projects during strategically important phases
  • Define and control project budgets

Personality requirements

Skills:

  • The ability to motivate and lead people
  • Relevant experience and knowledge in project and financial management, with the ability to learn quickly
  • The ability to communicate with external partners (consortium members, clients, state and public institutions, suppliers)
  • The ability to critically analyze challenges and propose improvements
  • Experience and ability to coordinate multiple projects at once
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English knowledge 
  • High personal responsibility, goal-oriented, assertive
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking
  • Flexibility, responsibility, and a high level of commitment

Requirements:

  • 2nd level university degree
  • Proficient in English
  • Advanced practical skills in office software (G-Suite or MS Office)
  • At least 5 years of experience in strategic project management
  • Previous experience with grant schemes and EU projects is an advantage
  • Experience in financial management
  • Experience in managing IT projects is an advantage

Offered salary:

Minimum €2,600. The final sum will be based on seniority and level of experience.
