Michaela Kršková

Position: Strategy Advisor

Michaela Kršková is a Strategy Advisor at KInIT, where she helps connect Slovakia’s leading independent research institute to investors, industry and public policy.

She brings almost two decades of experience across venture capital, public finance and innovation strategy. From 2021 to 2024 she served as Slovakia’s first Chief Innovation Officer at the Government Office, where she founded the Research and Innovation Authority (VAIA) and oversaw the creation and passing of Slovakia’s first National Research, Development and Innovation Strategy. In this role she was responsible for the strategic allocation of around EUR 570 million in public funding for science and innovation, and secured a long-term commitment to grow public R&D spending to EUR 1 billion per year by 2030, alongside reforms to make grant funding more transparent and competitive.

Michaela is an independent member of the Supervisory Board of Slovenská sporiteľňa, Slovakia’s largest bank and part of Erste Group. She also serves on the Board of the European Innovation Council in Brussels, which directs EU funding to deep-tech ventures, and is an Obama Foundation Europe Leader.

Earlier, she co-founded Neulogy Ventures, Slovakia’s first regulated seed and venture capital fund, and StartupAwards.SK, the country’s flagship startup competition. She previously worked in technology transfer at Isis Innovation in Oxford and as a consultant at Civitta in Bratislava.

At KInIT, Michaela brings investor, policymaker and board-level perspectives to her advisory work on strategy and partnerships.

She holds a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.A. from the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
