AIDA online course: Trustworthy AI in practice

Trustworthy and ethical artificial intelligence (AI) is currently one of the most discussed topics in relation to responsible development and use of AI systems. However, over the past few years, the debate about trustworthy AI has shifted from establishing a set of common ethical principles to figuring out how to apply these principles in real life.

At KInIT, we value education and knowledge transfer to younger generations. For this reason, our researchers Juraj Podroužek and Matúš Mesarčík created a short course where they will introduce the concept of trustworthy AI and the current legal framework of AI. They will also explain how ethics-based assessment process for AI systems can work in practice and how it relates to the  EU Artificial Intelligence Act – a proposed European law on artificial intelligence.

The course, aimed mainly at PhD students, will take place on March 3rd and on March 17th, 2023. The lectures will be held online.

After completing the course, participants will have a general understanding of ethics-based assessment process based on Assessment List for Trustworthy AI (ALTAI) and of the existing and future legal frameworks for AI systems.
