Girl’s Day at KInIT

On April 23, 2026, KInIT welcomed 12 high school girls for the second time as part of Girls‘ Day, an event organized nationwide by the Aj ty v IT association. We introduced our research institute and several of our projects, aiming to familiarize these students with the world of IT and the wide range of study options and potential career paths available to them.

The main theme of the event was social media and its pitfalls. The girls got a behind-the-scenes look at the social media algorithms that determine the content they see. Together with researchers in the fields of artificial intelligence, data analysis, ethics, and law, we discussed how these systems work and where they fall short.

The energy during the event was incredibly inspiring. To make things interactive, we sparked a discussion about what drew girls to us for this special day, and explored the ethical risks of AI. The girls walked away with plenty of new knowledge and a fresh perspective on technology. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to spend time again with such motivated and active girls and to show them the world of IT and AI from a different perspective.
