Position: Research Engineer

My journey sits at the intersection of technology and human interaction, driven by a conviction that the most innovative solutions emerge when AI is designed to work with people rather than around them.

I began exploring this idea during my bachelor’s studies, where my thesis focused on enhancing the user experience of an existing digital pathology tool to make it more practical and intuitive for the medical professionals who rely on it. That work led naturally into my master’s degree in Intelligent Software Systems at FIIT STU, where my thesis examined the synergy between doctors and AI in digital pathology – researching a novel approach to processing a batch of medical images and turning them into actionable statistical outcomes that support clinical decision-making.

Having completed my master’s, I now bring that expertise in Human-AI Interaction to KInIT, where I lead development as a Product Owner. I shape web-based tools around clear user stories and ground them in the human-AI interaction principles I’ve spent years studying – though I now apply them in a very different domain: AI-supported fact-checking. As part of the CEDMO 2.0 projects (the Central European Digital Media Observatory), I contributed to building tools that help fact-checkers and journalists counter disinformation more effectively, bringing a human-centered perspective to how AI integrates into their workflows. Moving from medical imaging to media integrity has reinforced what I value most about this field: the underlying challenge is always the same – designing systems where AI becomes a genuine, trustworthy partner in human work.

I believe that as AI becomes a more integral part of our lives, it has the potential to be a powerful collaborator – one we need to understand more deeply, across every field it touches.
