5th Annual Fair Academy

On May 12, our team from KInIT attended the 5th annual Fair Academy (Férová akadémia) conference right here in Bratislava. At KInIT, gender equality and equal opportunities really matter to us, so we went there to get inspired and see how we can keep improving.

The event was full of great energy and practical ideas. For us, the most interesting part was definitely listening to the experiences from abroad during the panel discussions. Hearing how experts from Barcelona or the European Commission handle these challenges gave us a lot of fresh perspective.

Here are our main takeaways from the day:

  • Learning from Abroad: Guests from other countries showed us that fair rules need to be a natural part of everyday work life, not just a document sitting on a shelf.
  • Fairness for Everyone: We talked about how people face different obstacles depending on their life background. One simple solution doesn’t work for everyone; we need to listen to individual stories.
  • Supporting Women Leaders: The panels openly discussed the barriers women still face when trying to reach top management roles in Slovakia, and how institutions can better support their growth.

We left the conference inspired and ready to keep building a welcoming, fair, and open workplace back at KInIT!
