Our Research Intern Michal Spiegel at the ESSAI Summer school

This summer, our Research Intern Michal Spiegel had the privilege of attending the 2nd European Summer School on Artificial Intelligence (ESSAI) and the 21st Advanced Course on AI (ACAI), held in Athens, Greece. The two-week event brought together AI enthusiasts, experts, and researchers from around the world, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Organized under the protection of the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI) and the TAILOR Summer School, the event was a great opportunity to delve into the latest trends and research on AI. With over 30 courses to choose from, Michal selected sessions that deepened his understanding of AI and inspired new ideas for his own research and professional development. To name a few, he particularly enjoyed Antonio Vergari and Robert Peharz presenting about Probabilistic Circuits, Mohan Sridharan and his course about reasoning and robotics, Devendra Dhami or Subbarao Kambhampati and his talk about LLMs and reasoning.

What made the experience truly memorable was the chance to connect with fellow AI professionals from diverse backgrounds. The discussions sparked fresh insights, and Michal left with not only new skills but also lasting connections. Athens, with its rich history and Mediterranean charm, was the perfect place for this learning journey.

“This experience reaffirmed that I am on the right path in the field of AI. It also underscored the importance of continued learning and collaboration to advance innovation. I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to contributing to the growing AI community.”
