Recently, we hosted the third session of our specialized symposium series focused on the ethics and philosophy of AI. For this discussion, we chose the topic\u00a0\u201cWhat is AI ethics and why is it important?\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0in response to the rapid proliferation of AI ethics in recent years. Although a wide array of ethical guidelines, principles, and governance of AI development and deployment have been formulated, they are often reduced to formal \u201ccheck-boxing\u201d that does not foster genuine ethical reflection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Strengthening Interdisciplinary Dialogue<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n

The primary goal of these meetups is to bring together research teams<\/strong> from various fields and academic backgrounds to deepen ethical reflection through cross-disciplinary insight. We aim to foster a space where diverse perspectives meet to form a sharp and constructive view of modern intelligent technologies. Led by our colleagues from the Ethics Department, Katar\u00edna Marcin\u010dinov\u00e1<\/strong> and Daniela Vacek<\/strong>, the discussion challenged participants to look at their research through a new lens and consider how the development and deployment of intelligent technologies can raise deeper ethical and societal concerns.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The event followed a hybrid format, allowing colleagues to join both in person and online. Thanks to Slido<\/strong>, interaction was seamless, sparking a lively debate around some of the most pressing questions in AI ethics:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
