We are the first independent institute of its kind in Slovakia. We are located in Bratislava.
The vision of KInIT is to bring world-class quality research and development in the areas of intelligent technologies and computing and to build working collaboration with the private sector, in order to make Slovakia and Europe more successful and competitive.
KInIT will perform basic and applied research in important areas of intelligent technologies.
KIniT stands for values of integrity and transparency in decision making. It also stands for openness, diversity, inclusion, curiosity and enthusiasm for knowledge and its application for a better world.
We aim to collaborate with universities in Europe and also worldwide. We will seek opportunities to participate on research projects together. We will provide our educational capacities to the Slovak universities, first in doctoral, then in master and eventually, in bachelor studies.
We will provide our expertise to partner companies through consultations and opening up new topics with potential of new knowledge discovery. Through common publications and patents, we will increase the reputation of our partners. Also, our excellent teachers in areas of artificial intelligence and software engineering will offer education for partner companies’ employees.
Full professor focusing on artificial intelligence, particularly in human computer interaction modelling, machine learning, user modeling. Slovak IT Personality of the Year 2016. She was a member of the Board of Governors of the Joint Research Center, High Level Expert Group on AI established by the European Commission. She is a co-founder of slovak.AI.
Full professor focusing on artificial intelligence and its cross sections with knowledge based software engineering, web search or biologically inspired computing. He was active steering committee member in several international conferences. In recent years, he initiated research on antisocial behaviour in online environment.
Full professor focusing on research of fast and effective algorithms and Big Data processing in various applications, such as bioinformatics, smart grid optimization. Her research concerns parallel and distributed computing, artificial intelligence and biologically inspired computing.
Associate professor focusing on intelligent information systems focused on natural language processing, artificial intelligence and low-resource text processing. He was a vice-dean for master study and alumni cooperation. He has co-led the project awarded by the Ministry of Education of SR for exceptional impact on education.
Associate professor focusing on privacy, security of information systems, behavioural biometric authentication and user modelling. Her research also includes similarity of texts and detection of misinformation. She was 8 years a vice-dean of the faculty responsible for study at FIIT STU.
Associate professor focusing on intelligent data analysis methods. She has led several projects which were focused on data analysis, software development and related research. She was 8 years a vice-dean of the faculty responsible for research, projects and industry cooperation at FIIT STU.
Associate professor focusing on artificial intelligence. His research interests focus on the reinforcement learning, neural networks, board games and parallel and distributed computing. He was a head of the Institute of Informatics, Information Systems and Software Engineering at FIIT STU. He is a member of IEEE and ACM.
Associate professor focusing on the intersection of fields of human computation, eye-tracking and user modeling. His expertise also includes user studies, games and gamification. Recently, he has been working in the domain of misinformation modeling. He participated in research cooperation with Bar-Ilan and British Columbia Universities.
Associate professor focusing on recommender systems, machine learning, user modeling, and information retrieval. His research is focused on predictive modelling of customer behavior (e.g., churn prediction). Multiple of his results are highly cited and he is active in the international recommender system community.
Associate professor focusing on nature inspired computing, optimization and data mining. Her research is oriented on energy production and microgrid optimization, creating an effective forecasting using nature inspired computing to predict macroeconomic development of the country.
